Do you have an example of a connection string for Pervasive SQL? Also do you have any recommendations on programmers for queries between Sentryfile and a pervasive SQL DB?

Gosh! Not sure as we never used that database system. On the connectionstring.com website they do have a sample connection string (http://www.connectionstrings.com/pervasive/ ). We are not sure if there is a pervasive driver that will need to be installed on the server or not.

Hi,

Yep, we can try this out. But it's certainly a "trial and error" process. There are no refunds for hourly support, so it's possible that we won't be able to get it working. So, it's important that you understand this before engaging our professional services team.

Also, it's important that we have all the necessary information about the Pervasive database. We would need to know the following in advance:

1. Is the pervasive database running on the same server as SentryFile, or a remote server?
2. Do you have the login credentials to access the pervasive database?
3. Which version of Pervasive are they running? Do they have an ODBC Driver for the database?
4. Does the client know the database schema so that we can test a query on the database?

Please let us know!

PCS- Understood. Can we put a reasonable cap on the trial and error?

1. Is the pervasive database running on the same server as SentryFile, or a remote server? No it is on a separate server on the domain
2. Do you have the login credentials to access the pervasive database? Yes there was a super user added
3. Which version of Pervasive are they running? Version 9 Do they have an ODBC Driver for the database? Yes it is already installed on the SF server according to the rep.
4. Does the client know the database schema so that we can test a query on the database? They have a dictionary for the program and have access to one of the reps at Timberline to clarify table names etc if needed.

Hi,

We don't mind giving it a try. If you're interested in purchasing an hour of support time to give it a try, just visit the url below to place your order:

https://secure.shareit.com/shareit/cart.html?PRODUCT[300077354]=1

Once we've received the order, we'll contact you via email to schedule the call.

BTW: It sounds like you've already attempted to set this up. What problems/errors did you encounter? Can you share any details of why you weren't able to get this working?

Thank you,

Tried all different ways to input the connection string and test but it comes up with various errors in the system log. Authentication errors, invalid attribute errors most common.
