When trying to add an item through the sentryfile API we occasionally get the following error.

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Transaction (Process ID 56) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction.
at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand.ExecuteReaderInternal(CommandBehavior behavior, String method)
at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand.ExecuteNonQuery()
at DocuCore.UpdateQuery(Int32 user_id, String query)
at DocuCore.Add_RecordIsActive(String sessionid, Int32 repository_id, Int32 document_id)
at DocuCore.Add_CreateRecord(String sessionid, Int32 repository_id)
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Has anyone else run into this? Usually it occurs when importing a large # of documents.
Thank You,

Hi,

This seems to indicate that the database is having a difficult time releasing the locks in time for the next transaction. Are you importing the documents sequentially? Or several threads adding documents simultaneously?

If you can add a slight time delay between each document that you add during these big imports it should give the database time to release the locks.

Please let us know if this helps!
